Patient Experience

Sports Medicine & Non-Surgical Orthopedic Physicians located in Boulder, CO

We have a passion for getting it right and getting you back to your best self. Our team works hard to get to the root of your problem and make you the center of your health care team. You can count on us to be straightforward. We treat you how we'd want one of our own family to be treated- with integrity, excellence, and compassionate care. Each patient starts with a 90-minute evaluation.

What to Expect

1) Reach out and schedule an evaluation

  • By phone 720-463-0567
  • Send an inquiry through the website

2) Come to our office for an initial 90 minute evaluation

  • Establish a comprehensive history
  • Review any medical imaging or prior tests or surgical reports (PLEASE BRING ANY AND ALL OLD MRI’S, OPERATIVE REPORTS, EMG TESTS or PRIOR REGENERATIVE TREATMENTS you’ve received as this improves efficiency greatly)
  • Receive a HIGHLY DETAILED physical and biomechanical examination to find the various areas of Myofascial Injury and tissue breakdown
  • Typically the physical examination guides us to the soft tissue areas of injury.  We will use the Ultrasound Guided injections at the time of your actual procedure to better understand the extent of the injuries at these locations
  • This initial MAY include a diagnostic ultrasound, but OFTENTIMES there is not enough time or necessity to do a detailed ULTRASOUND exam on the first visit.  This is for 2 reasons: 1) Static imaging without injections are limited in their ability to detect myofascial injuries and 2) Imaging can be abnormal even when strength and function are still normal- we don’t treat just because something looks abnormal.  The abnormality needs to correspond to functional problems as well

3) Receive a Breakthrough Diagnosis & Treatment Plan

  • Review of diagnosis and recommended next steps

4) Schedule Treatment or set up further evaluation

  • Implement and schedule your custom treatment plan
  • There is a lot of information that is given at your evaluation, and sometimes patients want to digest the information and come back to discuss the information further
  • Thus, we provide a complimentary PRE-PROCEDURAL COUNSELING session to make sure all your questions are answered and you feel confident heading into your REGENERATIVE TREATMENT PLAN
  • Sometimes the initial evaluation isn’t enough time and further evaluation is needed. Many patients have been dealing with their issues for a long time, so more time is needed. We want to fully understand your situation and come up with an accurate and comprehensive diagnosis & plan for treatment.

5) Recovery/rehabilitation/restoration/re-evaluation/reassessment

  • We will provide you with a customized Post-Procedure Recovery Protocol specific to your condition.
  • After receiving treatment we want to make sure you are on track to reach your goals. So we have you come back to follow-up during your recovery and make any necessary changes for you to continue moving forward.
  • Post-procedure rehabilitation is critical in helping your body to heal in an optimal way. As such, we have developed long-term relationships with many EXCELLENT physical therapists, chiropractors and myofascial release experts around the Denver area.
  • We help get you to the RIGHT therapist for your particular condition from this strong group of highly skilled professionals, many times close to where you live or work!
